I am always learning and meeting new authors and I particularly enjoy doing that through the SCWBI events. Yesterday I went to an event in Cambridge, hosted by the fabulous Helen Moss and Benjamin Scott, both great writers who are very experienced at school visits.
There were lots of tips and information sharing (I have just been off to Rymans to get my A3 back up presentation folder for when technology lets you down) but I also met some really interesting people too. Take Kimberley Kleczka, author and songwriter who speaks a multitude of languages, including Swahili and this other amazing African language that involves complicated clicks of the tongue. I was totally star struck! Great day, helping me to prepare for the all the upcoming visits I have planned for the week of World Book Day on 2 March.
