I don't think I have bragged about this enough: it deserves its own blog post.

EATS received Highly Commended in the Winchester Writers Festival 2017 after it was shortlisted in the Children's Funny Fiction Competition.

EATS is my new book. It is a truly ridiculous story about two boys who, after winning a cooking competition,  go to a celebrity chef house where they discover their prize isn't all it seems.

The most fun bit to write was the banter between Larks and Tucker. I think their friendship might have been what caught the judges' eye.

It was amazing to be shortlisted, but it would have been better to win. My time will come!

Congratulations to Maryland Primary School who had the winning bid for my school visit to raise funds for the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire.

The bid was won by Stephanie Houghton who deserves a big shout out!

Thank you to everyone who helped organise this fundraising event and to everyone who was involved. It raised more than £150,000 in total - triumphant effort.

What Am I Reading?

I first read this book when I was thirteen.

I loved it with a passion.

My brother got hold of a copy for my birthday way back in October.

It has sat on my shelf for ages. I was too scared to read it in case it was not how I remembered it and everything became spoiled.

I've been brave, at last and picked it up and  luckily  I'm just rediscovering how wonderful it is.

Timeless and beautiful I'm being carried away in the magic of fairytale fantasy.

These books are so much fun. I'm also reading the Mog stories for the thousandth time because you're never too old for picture books.

I'm getting some wonderful reviews and lovely golden stars on Amazon for EATS. You can join in too if you like? It really makes a big difference, so thank you!

I visit quite a few local schools so sometimes when I'm walking down the street a reader will say hello to me. It's fantastic - I feel like a celebrity!

I was at my daughter's sports day yesterday and a girl said, "Hello Camilla!"
"Hello!"
"I read EATS. It was brilliant!"
"Thank you. I'm so glad you enjoyed it."
Massive smile.
I mean, come on, what more does an author need? Brilliant? She said it was brilliant!
