SCBWI Conference 2-3 November 2019

There are many good reasons if you're a Children's Author and/or Illustrator - at any stage of your career - why you should attend this year's SCBWI conference held in Winchester on 2-3rd November.

It's not just about meeting the celebrities of the world of children's literature, or eating amazing cake, or dressing up in fancy dress, there are some serious, potentially career changing opportunities available. Many people who have taken part in 1-2-1s or been previous contestants of The Hook (SCBWI's version of The Voice) have gone on to sign with agents, or had their work noticed by publishers. 

In addition to the conference, the Friday before (1st November) hosts a variety of different FREE fringe events, including a mass critique session and a scrawl crawl around Winchester.  

There are many practical based workshops around the craft of writing, or marketing and publicity - giving you lots of choice and enabling you to spend your conference time in a way that will most benefit you and your career.

This year's theme is Telling Tales and our Key Note Speakers are Geraldine Mc Caughrean, Mini Grey and Nicola Soloman.

The conference is absolutely brilliant. This will be my fifth in a row - I go every year and now volunteer as the Front of House Coordinator.
