Mass Update

24/7/2026

I have been so preoccupied with my horse, Day that I have completely neglected to update my website. My last post was in February and it is now nearly August - that has to be the longest I have gone without letting you know what I've been up to. Prepare to be bombarded!
NB: I've ordered the photos from left side down as they appear on a mobile.
1. I welcomed lovely Ruby back into the dog walking pack (although it is more like dog shuffle and sleep now they are elderly). She helped me with the final edits on a new book out in 2027 (more on this soon).
2. I completed my short Writer-In-Residence stint at The Grange Academy in Bushy by giving away the lovely gift pack and copy of Control Alter Delete by KL Kettle.
3. I was one of the authors at the First Story Young Writers Conference in Cambridge - along with a smashing line-up including the lovely Nabeela Ahmed featured in the obligatory selfie.
4-5. I've been to a few book launches in London, including Mariesa Dulak and Rebecca Cobb's wonderful The Ice Cream Crocodile and Lily Chen's (aka Tania Tay) Macha Maker's Cafe.
6. I helped promote the annual Empathy Lab festival.
7. I received wonderful reviews for both Call Me Lion and Project Pony on Instagram by Book Bloggers.
8. I helped work on the GOAT books by Clare Helen Welsh and met Gus in person at the writers picnic at Jubilee Gardens in London.

I have also been the judge at my local writer's group and been doing some freelance editing/mentoring. I've been writing a lot too. The results of which I have just sent off to my agent for her thoughts and feedback. This is a very different style for me and a book I've been trying to write for several years, so I'm really interested to hear back to whether this completely new approach is working. It is the first time I've felt positive about this book for a long time so I'm hoping my agent agrees with my gut feeling on it.

If I'm totally honest, however, my life has mostly been about this beautiful boy. For those of you following my lifetime dream of getting my own horse - you'll be pleased to know that we are out riding several times a week and living our best lives. He's adapting well to his new life as a Happy Hacker, getting stronger and more confident all the time. He's quickly becoming the main character in my life and we're already very good friends. Turko is just about over his jealously now!
